Statement of Goals

- If elected, I will work to make ISSA membership more valuable, both internally and externally.

- I believe the sense of ISSA community should extend well beyond the monthly chapter events. I would strive to augment the educational and networking value of chapter events globally, to better publicize them, and increase collaboration between chapters and presenters to increase visibility and attendance. Furthermore, I would work to create and foster a social media presence for ISSA chapters and members, and to establish ongoing discussions on relevant themes.

- Member benefits is another area of opportunity. I believe ISSA members could have greater access to a host of information, services, and events at preferred group rates, and would work to engage the vendor community.

- ISSA is uniquely positioned to lead in the development of new infosec talent. I would reach out to those early on in their infosec careers, through universities and other educational organizations. Mentorship programs, ISSA content and chapter events could play a role in developing new members. And the organization’s potential employers would have greater access to a growing talent pool.

- ISSA members possess some of the best expert insights into real-world security issues. ISSA can establish itself with the media as a trusted resource to the public. ISSA members could provide balanced insights and commentary to journalists seeking input on the latest malware attacks, breaches, legislation, best practices, etc.
